3 boats competed for the Jonty cup over this recent bank holiday weekend. Roger Yeoman and Caroline Gosford set 4 back to back races from the committee boat in the Itchenor reach in somewhat blustery conditions on Saturday afternoon – many thanks to them for giving the sailors some really fun and memorable racing.

This event is planned to take place at 1430 on Saturday 30th August in conjunction with the Itchenor Youth Weekend. The intention is to offer to under 18 years old dinghy helms an opportunity to race a heavier keel boat. The trophy is currently held by Sophie Knight.
Full qualification and entry details will be posted on the website and through Class Captains nearer the day. |

420s have just had their world (for the top 7 boy and 7 girl boats) and junior European (top 5 boy and top 2 girl boats) selectors in Lake Bala and Highcliffe where up to 40 boats fought it out in tough conditions ranging from 30 knots to zero! 2 Itchenor boats competed. Rebecca Kalderon and Rosie Sibthorp finished 3rd girl boat(13th overall) and have been selected for the worlds in Athens, and Jack Yeoman and Henry Spreckley, despite injuries putting them out of 2 races, finished 2rd in their age group (16th overall) which looks very promising for the future. |
